Graz, Styria
Schloss Eggenberg is a premier example of Baroque art and architecture, and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. Its architecture and interior furnishings form a symbolic representation of the universe, built to serve as a residence for the princely family Eggenberg. The castle preserves a valuable collection of historic interiors, including an important cycle of over 500 ceiling paintings. It is an almost unaltered space art work, where the furnishing phases of the 17th and 18th centuries come together to create an ensemble of exceptional experiential value.
