Salzfertigerhaus

Gmunden, Upper Austria

Original Salzfertigerhaus (salt merchant's house) from the end of the 15th century with a two-story arcaded courtyard. It was located on the former city wall. Until 1700, it belonged to various salt merchants and served as a hostel for salt workers and other trades. From the early 18th century, it was owned by imperial officials and officials of the local landlords. Since 1888, the following merchants offered their services in this charming house: Max Narbeshuber; Spechtenhauser family; grocery, colonial, and paint goods Alexander Hager; general and household goods Hager-Oberleithner; Fashions KASTA (Karl Stadlhuber) and others.
