Fürstenfeld, Styria
The Sagenpfad (Legend Trail) is a footpath connecting Fürstenfeld's Pfeilburg via the legendary Buchwald to the Altenmarkt parish church, which was established as a theme trail in 2005. This trail provides information about the history of the spa capital Fürstenfeld and its surroundings, and immerses you in the mythical world of legends of the Buchwald. There are many stations along the way. A sunken castle, the treasure of the Klinserlgraben, oases of tranquility, sound trees... Curious? Sharpen your senses and get to know the colorful splendor and diversity of the animal and plant world, and find your inner peace. Even if the Sagenpfad is also called "the accessible Sagenpfad Altenmarkt - Fürstenfeld", it cannot be assumed that accessible is synonymous with wheelchair accessible. Although some stations in both Altenmarkt and Fürstenfeld are reachable by wheelchair and can be visited by people with walking disabilities, we expressly point out that the Buchwald between the Fürstenfeld campsite and the Altenmarkt ice rink is not passable for wheelchair users and people with walking disabilities. This part is a mountain hiking trail and is designated as such. It requires good footwear and surefootedness. The Sagenpfad in the Buchwald area is very natural – here one should consciously perceive, discover, become one with, and face the challenges of nature and its consequences in this natural space.
