Ruine Königstein

The castle was built in 1410 by order of Duke Johann von Holland-Straubing primarily for protection against the Hussites. According to legend, the castle received the name "Königstein" because construction began on "Epiphany". The castle is one of the few fortifications for which both the date of construction start and the time of destruction are known.
