Rosarium in St. Stefan im Rosental

A true rose paradise To live up to the place name "im Rosental", the market town decided in 2003 to establish a unique rosarium in the leisure park, which was ceremoniously opened a year later. Meanwhile, the magnificent rose park has developed into a true crowd-puller, where rose lovers can admire over 500 rose bushes with 300 different varieties, especially from the end of May to the beginning of July. In addition to wild roses, historical, modern and English roses, the rosarium also features the unusual "Green Rose" (Rosa viridiflora). A stroll along the various rose varieties also provides visitors with a unique fragrance experience. Those who would like more detailed information about the individual varieties can obtain it from the two rose caretakers after prior telephone registration at the municipal office. Furthermore, in St. Stefan im Rosental there is a "Rose Path" which is entirely dedicated to the Apothecary's Rose, because its five petals are assigned the basic elements with corresponding characteristics: Earth - Plants - Fire - Air - Water.
