Gschwandt, Upper Austria
After several years of leasing, we decided to buy this property in 2001. On January 1, 2002, the time had come: the first 5 horses and 2 foals moved into the Stererhof. Since it was originally a cattle and pig farm, the farm first had to be adapted for horses. It continues to be rebuilt and expanded every year. Today we cultivate approx. 30 ha of grassland, approx. 15 ha of which are paddocks and summer pastures. The remaining area is used for hay production. We have been an organic farm since 2009. In addition to our own WARMBLOOD, WELSH COB, and SPORT PONY breeding, the Stererhof today also offers space for boarders, young horses, and a riding school. In the riding school, an attempt is made to convey the joy with and around horses to the predominantly young students according to classical principles (Philippe Karl, T.T.E.A.M.). Furthermore, we offer the training of young horses as well as remedial horses. Since the change from the leased property to the Stererhof, the Laakirchen Riding Club has also been using it as a training facility. Thus, on the grounds of the Stererhof stud farm, it is possible to accompany and experience the entire life of a horse, from foal to retiree!
