Ramsauer Kirchl - Maria 7 Schmerzen

Construction of the widely visible little church - a simple building in the Neoclassical style - began in 1841 and it was consecrated as early as 1843. The high altar is adorned with a painting of the "Sorrowful Mother of God". The Ramsau Church, which was renovated and restored in 1996/97, now shines again in full splendor. Our Archbishop solemnly reopened it on April 20, 1997. Ramsau is the home of Blessed Engelbert Kolland, who died on July 10, 1860, at the age of 33, in Damascus as a martyr for Christ. He was beatified on October 10, 1926, and has been the second patron of our parish of Zell am Ziller since August 15, 1986.
