From St. Veit a.d. Glan, the path leads upstream along the young Glan river to Liebenfels. The starting point is Carinthia's medieval center of power: the ducal town of St. Veit an der Glan. From St. Veit a. d. Glan-West train station, we reach the Glan river through contemporary residential areas. Flanked by natural gallery forests, the still young river leads us upstream on partly asphalted paths in wide meanders. The plain in the valley floor widens, and the path transforms into a stroll through a mosaic of fields, reed meadows, and riparian forests. The views of the mixed forests of the gentle, surrounding wooded mountains create a hidden valley feeling. And the rhythm of walking as well as the new perspectives invite contemplation. At the level of Liebenfels, we leave the Glan river and follow the Feistritz upstream across the valley floor. Shortly thereafter, we reach Liebenfels train station on the outskirts of the village of the same name. Clear-your-head route: 2h 15min, 8.94 km, 18 hmLink to the route:
