Raggaschlucht

Flattach, Carinthia

naturführung

At about 800 m in length, it is one of Austria's shortest gorges, but due to its particular narrowness and depth of up to 200 m, it is one of the most impressive. Over thousands of years, the Raggabach created one of the most beautiful natural gorges in the Alps. Vertical rock walls narrow the wild and romantic gorge, the roar of the water fills the air, and artfully constructed wooden walkways make hiking easier. The way back leads through the forest to the starting point. Interesting "Geological Nature Trail" around the special features of the gorge. Good footwear and surefootedness are required (also for children)! Free parking (10-minute walk to the ticket office). Also accessible by public transport (Raggaschlucht bus stop). Information about the hike in the Raggaschlucht Starting point: Large free parking lot in the Schmelzhütten district, bus parking lot directly at the Flattach tourist office (directly next to the federal road) Hiking time: approx. 1-1.5 hours Altitude difference: approx. 250 m Difficulty: medium Characteristics: Hike in the valley area, sturdy footwear absolutely necessary - path system in the gorge is wet! Family-friendly: Not suitable for toddlers Refreshment stops: Guesthouses in Flattach
