Radaranlage Feichtberg

The "Feichtberg" radar system, built in 1968, is visible from afar in all directions. This medium-range radar system was erected on the 768 m high "Feichtberg" by the Federal Office for Civil Aviation. In 1994, it was privatized and taken over by Austro Control, Österreichische Gesellschaft für Zivilluftfahrt m.b.H, in Vienna. Homepage: http://www.austrocontrol.co.at. Austro Control has three medium-range radar stations available for monitoring Austrian airspace. The large facilities, which lie in the landscape like oversized golf balls, are located on the Buschberg (Lower Austria), the Feichtberg in Kopfing, Upper Austria, and the Koralpe (Carinthia).
