Raabursprung-Runde

Passail, Styria

radfahrenwandern

The Raab spring, the origin, is a small fenced-in area. Here the water comes from the foot of the Osser and flows further into the Raabklamm gorge, about 250 kilometers through Eastern Styria and through Hungary, where the Raab then flows into the Danube. That is why the mystical river is also very popular with Hungarian guests. The family hiking trail starts at the "Waldmühle" and leads past several steeply situated mountain farmhouses. Meanwhile, the story of "Pozilo", the stag, and the little droplet "Sprunggingerl" is told. The information boards have been prepared in German and Hungarian. Once you arrive at the spring, there are also benches and a beautiful wayside cross for a rest, and you can also taste the delicious Raab spring water. If you want to extend the hike a bit (Osser Circular Trail), you can hike steeply up from the Raabursprung to the "Schwoabauer-Kreuz" on the Sommeralm. In the middle of the Alm (mountain pasture) area, just below the "Schwoabauer Kreuz", the GH Holzmeister awaits hungry guests (trail no. 754, approx. 1/2 hr, 200 meters in altitude).
