Crystal-clear water, romantic footbridges, steep rocks and gorges characterize the landscape and create a unique natural and recreational area. An incredible variety of natural beauties, as well as plant and animal species, delight visitors. For example, the dipper, kingfisher, and black stork are among the rare animal species that can still be seen in the Raabklamm. The Raabklamm was also declared a European protected area due to its multitude of protected caves and the associated bat species and other endangered bird species. The shade-giving trees of the native mixed forest majestically adorn the hiking trails with their deep root systems. Numerous entry points to the unique natural and recreational area invite visitors to linger in the gorge. Parts of the gorge are also accessible with a stroller or wheelchair. The Raabklamm nature and hiking paradise is located near the district capital Weiz and borders the "Naturpark Almenland" in Arzberg. Experience the natural beauties of the Raabklamm in a special way. With a bit of hiking luck, you can admire dippers, grey herons, and black storks feeding along the Raab river. The Raabklamm circular trail starts in the center of Arzberg (parking available). Duration: approx. 5 hours Length: approx. 12 kilometers Ascent: approx. 520 meters After the hike, you can stop for a meal in Arzberg, either at the Kirchenwirt or at the nearby Gasthaus Sperl - Grillwirt. The hike could be combined with a visit to the Arzberg Silver Mine, Almenland Stollenkäse, or Moarhofhechtl.
