Name: Pramtal Alpaka Hofladen Description: Arrived at the destination after a long journey! Since about 2011, we have been involved with alpaca farming. We repeatedly visited fairs, exhibitions, breeders, and completed seminars and courses. However, we always took the "sensible" path and put the matter aside. ... too little time, too large an investment, too ..., too .... But we kept coming back to it, and this secret love for these animals never let us go. In 2017, a different kind of reason prevailed. The love for family, for life, and for alpacas won out! In search of deceleration, we arrived here! We are happy about our animal additions! Why alpaca? Alpacas are comparatively uncomplicated to keep. They are robust and adaptable, very clean animals, and create communal dung heaps. They have incisors on the lower jaw and a dental pad on the upper jaw, so an area grazed by alpacas looks as if it has been mowed with a lawnmower. As pad-footed animals, they cause almost no treading damage. Alpacas radiate serenity; they don't like hustle and bustle. This forces one to be balanced and calm when dealing with them. You don't have to kill alpacas to get a product. The "wool," called fiber in technical jargon, is much finer than sheep's wool and has many more pleasant properties than just being warm. All in all, an alpaca is a perfect companion. In the truest sense of the word, because alpacas are also excellent as trekking, hiking, and therapy animals.
