Ploetzhof- Die Mühle am Baderbach

The Baderbachmühle, the last remaining Gmachlmühle on the Baderbach, stands directly opposite the #ploetzhof. Half of it belongs to the Unterhöfnergut and the Strumegg farm. Until the 1960s, grains such as wheat, rye, barley, and oats were milled here. As part of the Ploetzhof II Leader project, important renovation work was carried out on the mill in 2024. The mill wheel and the mill received a new roof, and the facade was re-covered with wooden shingles. In the course of this, the adjoining path to the waterfall was also renovated. A picturesque connection has now been created from the impressive old prison to the Baderbachmühle. This now allows visitors to explore three points of interest (POIs), namely the #ploetzhof, the mill, and the waterfall, in a short walk. The information board on the Baderbachmühle explains the historical significance of the old mill and allows you to immerse yourself in a piece of Hofer history. The #ploetzhof museum and the Baderbachmühle are easily accessible during a hike from the Hof town center, the Fuschlsee circular hiking trail, or from the P&R.
