Pfarrkirche zur Heiligen Margaretha

Pfarrkirche zur Heiligen Margaretha

Flaurling, Tyrol

The parish church is located directly in the center of Flaurling and is a Neoclassical building that replaced a 14th-century chapel. In 1508, the small church was enlarged by pastor Sigismund Ris. Further alterations took place in 1574 and 1750. In 1836, the parish and deanery church was enlarged. Since then, the main entrance is no longer on the west side of the church, but on the east side. In 1957/58, the Tyrolean artist Wolfram Köberl created an imposing ceiling painting. In 2010, the interior of the church was fundamentally renovated and redesigned according to liturgical principles. A tower and facade renovation followed in 2012. The church is consecrated to Saint Margaret, which is why the name day festival takes place annually on July 20.
