The Parish Church of Wald A plenary indulgence letter in the Wald parish archive from 1395 indicates that the church already existed at that time. It is situated on the sunny side of the mountain slope, facing east. The Parish Church in Wald is dedicated to Saint Nicholas and the 14 Holy Helpers. The church is 28 meters long, 12 meters wide, and the tower is 42 meters high. In 1751, lightning struck the church, and the vault had to be supported by two columns. In 1753, a new baroque high altar was erected, and in 1798, the altar of Our Lady was added, featuring a carved Madonna and the Holy Trinity above. The pulpit, built around 1663, is in Renaissance style, as is the gallery railing decorated with the 14 Holy Helpers. The choir displays the 12 Apostles and was painted in 1836 by Rattensperger. An organ was installed in the church in 1837. In the main nave, the legend of Saint Nicholas, the church's patron saint, is depicted. Services: Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
