Pfarrkirche Tux in Tux-Lanersbach

In the 17th century, the first plans emerged for the expansion of the church, which had become too small. These plans were realized in 1686 with the early Baroque new building by master builder Georg Sieberer from Volders, which largely still stands today. Further alterations to the building and its furnishings followed in the next decades. Around 1737/39, another renovation with the Baroque transformation of the vault was carried out. Decisive innovations in more recent times included the creation of a church square in 1985, made possible by the demolition of the old schoolhouse (formerly also the sacristan's house), and the westward extension of the parish church. According to plans by Innsbruck architect Siegfried Stoll, the nave was extended by 6.80 m in the area of the organ gallery. Furthermore, a comprehensive exterior and interior renovation took place in 1986, during which, among other things, the pulpit was reinstalled. In addition, the church received a new organ from the workshop of Krems organ builder Friedrich Heftner, which was blessed on October 18 by the then Bishop of Innsbruck, Dr. Reinhold Stecher.
