Pfarrkirche St. Petrus

Reith im Alpbachtal, Tyrol

The Deanery Parish Church of St. Peter was first mentioned in 1187. The Gothic baptismal font made of red marble from the old church is preserved; it is set up in the current church, which Andrä Hueber built in the Neoclassical style in 1805. The painter Joseph Schöpf, born in Telfs in 1745, immortalized his wife as St. Notburga and himself as a beggar in the church painting. Josef Högele painted the frescoes, and Karl Reinisch built the organ in 1930. A bell by the famous Gregor Löffler (1560) hangs in the tower. The cemetery chapel, first mentioned in a document in 1338, is consecrated to Saints Michael and Margaretha.
