Photo: Pfarre St. PankrazSt. Pankraz, Upper Austria
The parish church of St. Pankraz is single-nave and six-bay with a net-rib vault. The apse has a 3/8 closure. The high altar is by Josef Holzinger. The high altar painting, which depicts the beheading of St. Pancras, is attributed to Martin Altomonte. The statue on the left depicts John the Baptist, on the right is St. James. The statues come from the workshop of Franz Xaver Leithner from Lambach. The side altars are also by him (1754 - 1755). The St. Joseph altar with the painting of St. Joseph is on the right side and is by Bartholomeo Altomonte, a son of Martin Altomonte (1763). The statues depict the parents of St. John the Baptist: Zacharias, a Jewish priest, on the right, and Elisabeth, his wife, on the left. The painting of the Marian altar on the left side is also by Bartholomeo Altomonte. The two statues depict the parents of the Mother of God Mary: Joachim and Anna. The parish church was built in 1462. Between 1987 and 1989, the church was renovated inside and out at a financial cost of almost EURO 290,000. The local population contributed 2,045 hours of unpaid work. Since diligent savings had already been made in previous years, there are virtually no debts left. The diocese covered the main part of 60% of the renovation amount from church contributions. On the site of today's parish church, the existence of a chapel, which was already dedicated to the castle saint "Pancras" at that time, was first mentioned in a document in 1325. The parish church of St. Pankraz was built in 1462; on August 22 of that year, it was consecrated by Bishop Sigismund of Salona and suffragan of Prince-Bishop Ulrich of Passau.
