The Roman Catholic parish church St. Nikola is picturesquely situated on a rock directly on the Danube and is dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of seafarers. The church presumably goes back to an early missionary chapel. The current building features Romanesque and early Gothic elements and is partly dated to the 12th or 13th century. Until the founding of the Diocese of Linz in 1784, the church belonged to the Diocese of Passau. The listed church is a significant historical building in the region.
