Pfarrkirche St. Lambert

Pfarrkirche St. Lambert

Lans, Tyrol

Parish Church of St. Lambert in Lans. The Church of St. Lambert was first documented in 1369 and was rebuilt and expanded in the Gothic style in the 15th century. In 1722, a far-reaching Baroque transformation took place. Due to extensive donations of relics from the 15th to the mid-18th century, the church was the site of numerous pilgrimages. The veneration of the relics of Saint Lambert and the plague saints Sebastian and Rochus was intended to protect against plague and other afflictions. Those suffering from foot ailments and other infirmities could place their feet in a hole in the church floor or lay their clothes in it to experience healing. A very successful renovation of the church was completed in June 2006. Today, the Parish Church of St. Lambert is a popular wedding church.
