Pfarrkirche St.Johann bei Herberstein

In the early 12th century, a Romanesque hall church was built, which was named Feistritz in 1170 as the seat of a mother parish. Numerous Roman-era gravestones were incorporated into the church walls and have been preserved to the present day. The Augustinian monastery, founded in 1652, subsequently became an important spiritual impetus for the central Feistritz Valley. In 1659, the current parish church was structurally completed, and the interior was renewed in several stages until 1713. After the dissolution of the monastery in 1820, the adjoining monastery building served various purposes; since 1981, it has housed the Haus der Frauen.
