Abtenau, Salzburg
With the Parish Church of St. Blasius, the parish association Lammertal traces its origins back to more than eight hundred years ago. The church is first documented with the date May 6, 1191. The parish and thus also the parish church have always been closely connected with the St. Peter Monastery in Salzburg. The current church building is mainly attributed to the late Gothic period, although it has some additions from the Baroque era. The church impresses with its high-quality furnishings and features a distinctive, pointed tower that is 64 meters tall. The originally Gothic high altar was replaced around the mid-17th century by a Baroque high altar. In the years 2015/2016, the church was renovated with significant volunteer effort. The parish church can be visited during the day.
