Pfarrkirche Söchau

Fürstenfeld, Styria

Of the late Gothic church (Romanesque roots are assumed), the choir (star-ribbed vault, chamfered chancel arch) and the lower part of the tower (portal, shoulder-arch window) are preserved. Between 1662 and 1667, the nave was renovated, and in 1780, the onion dome typical of the Baroque period was added. Chapels were added on both sides from the third bay of the main nave. Interior: Figure of St. Vitus from 1520 in the Neo-Gothic high altar. Late Gothic baptismal font with a twisted base from the beginning of the 16th century.
