Rum, Tyrol
Parish Church Rum St. Georg Gothic on the outside, Baroque on the inside: Like many churches in the area, this one also received a Baroque redesign. But something inside still harks back to its Gothic origins: the four-bay nave with a stellar vault. On the outside, the church presents itself as a late Gothic nave, adjoined by a choir with a rectangular end. The Gothic tower with a gabled spire and uncoupled round-arched sound windows connects with the sacristy on the north side of the choir. The church was first mentioned in 1337. However, the foundation walls of the presbytery are older: they date from the mid-13th century. The church at that time was still very small and eventually grew together with the new building from the 15th century. In 1499, the last of the three altars was consecrated - thus completing the new church building.
