Pfarrkirche Kleinzell

The parish church of Kleinzell was built between 1430 and 1480. The altar consecration took place in 1452. The Passau auxiliary bishop Sigismund von Salona consecrated the high altar to Saint Lawrence. It was a turbulent time. Only one year later, Constantinople fell to the Ottoman Turks (1453) and the end of the Eastern Roman Empire was sealed. The current high altar was built between 1680 and 1690. The folk altar, on the other hand, is still very young; it was installed in 1984 under Father Johann Poschmair.
