Pfarrkirche in Mutters

For almost 700 years, the church has watched over the village of Mutters. It was first documented in 1327 and enlarged between 1440 and 1469. In the mid-18th century, the Gothic building received a "facelift". It was redesigned in the Baroque fashion. The Mutters parish church consists of a late Gothic nave. Adjoining it are a recessed, polygonal choir, the Gothic tower with a high pointed spire helmet, and the sacristy to the south. On the south side of the tower is an old sundial from the 18th century. Incidentally, a prominent politician is buried in Mutters: right by the entrance you will find the tomb of former Chancellor Dr. Schuschnigg. The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas. Therefore, the church patron saint's day takes place annually on St. Nicholas Day, December 6th.
