Hofkirchen, Upper Austria
The parish church of Hofkirchen i.M. was built between 1716 and 1739 under the parish vicars Franz Anton Albrecht, Andreas Kolzauer, and Michael Weillnpöck. The beautiful Baroque church was made possible through significant contributions from the Falkenstein-Salburger estate and the citizens of the market town. After 23 years of construction, the church was solemnly consecrated on June 28, 1739, by His Excellency Archbishop Josef Dominikus Graf Lamberg of Passau. In 1764, the church was destroyed again by a fire, which affected the roof. The parish church and the former cemetery are separated from the market square by surrounding buildings. Jakob Pwanger's involvement at the end of the construction period was likely crucial for the artistic impression. Our parish church is dedicated to St. Ulrich. It is located directly in the market area of Hofkirchen i.M.
