Pfarrkirche Bad Waltersdorf

The parish church was destroyed several times over the centuries and completely destroyed in 1683 by the "Kuruc incursions". The church was rebuilt from 1685-1690, and a 38m high baroque onion dome with a double cross (forged cross) was erected. The colorful church windows date from 1902, and the baroque interior decoration dates from the first half of the 18th century. The organ was first mentioned in 1730, but was replaced by a new work in 1957; however, the old "pneumatic" technology (operated with air) has been preserved. A unique cultural-historical jewel is the Waltersdorf Wheel of Fortune from the 14th century, which was discovered in the parish church during restoration work in 1990.
