The library is a very central room for a monastery, as reading and studying are an inseparable part of monastic life. Thus, over the centuries, the monks in Kremsmünster not only occupied themselves with the Bible or theology, but collected books from the most diverse fields of knowledge. Today, our library comprises around 230,000 volumes.
