Spittal an der Drau, Carinthia
A building worth seeing with facade decoration from the late Baroque-Josephinian period.Anyone hurrying through the city on business might literally "pass by" this extremely remarkable building. Yet this three-story house, with its facade decoration from the late Baroque-Josephinian period around 1780, exhibits remarkable architectural achievements. The facade features notable architectural elements such as a giant pilaster order with masks, richly stuccoed window frames, and paintings of the Three Wise Men, the Mother of God, and a sundial in framed panels. It is hardly surprising that this noteworthy structure served the Porcia family as a brewery for a long time and today houses the city archive.
