The 35-meter difference in altitude to the newly created viewing platform is overcome in a glass cabin, half in the rock and half in the open. From above, one can enjoy a wonderful panorama. The view extends over the medieval city center, the confluence of the Enns and Steyr rivers, and into the mountains of the Kalkalpen National Park. One reaches the lift through a historic tunnel, which was an air-raid shelter during World War II. It connects the historic old town with the Tabor district.The panoramic lift by architect Helmut Reitter also sets new design standards. It is simultaneously a strong, self-confident symbol and yet minimalist in design. Simplicity cannot generate more richness.
