Panoramabahn Kreuzeck

The funicular takes you on an 11-minute romantic ride to Rosswiese, the mountain station of the railway located at an altitude of around 1,200 m. Here you will find one of the most beautiful mountain hiking areas in the Alps - the Kreuzeckgruppe, with one of the most striking panoramic mountains in the Tauern region, the Salzkofel (2,498 m). Rosswiese is the ideal starting point for family-friendly hikes on well-maintained hiking trails, which are lined with guiding, mystical and rustically carved "forest spirits", to the two managed Almhütten (mountain huts) Poldis Jausenstation (currently closed) and Kling-Hütte. Meaningful proverb signs on old trees invite you to linger at beautiful viewpoints.
