Palais HerberstorffThe name of the house goes back to its owner, Karl von Herberstorff. He was one of the most important representatives of the Protestants in Radkersburg. Herberstorff commissioned the Upper Italian master builder Battista della Porta de Riva around 1580 with the renovation of the building. The Renaissance arcaded courtyard is an impressive testimony to Italian architecture in Bad Radkersburg. A building inscription with family crest on the north side of the courtyard commemorates the builder Herberstorff and his wife Anna Susanna von Liechtenstein. A medieval tower, which was part of the Gothic city fortifications, is connected to the house. Also built against the medieval fortification wall is the Dechanthof, which is adjoined by the city parish church Johannes der Täufer.
