Ostergrab Patsch

The Holy Sepulchre in the parish church of Patsch dates from around 1767 by the painter Johann Joachim Pfaundler (1723? - 1811). Pfaundler was a priest and painter. He worked as a curator in Schönberg from 1763 until his death. He created the Holy Sepulchres in Schönberg, Telfes, Fulpmes and Patsch. Today, only those in Schönberg, Telfes and Patsch have survived, which are among the most beautiful in the country. The Easter Sepulchre in Patsch is one of the few Holy Sepulchres with almost completely preserved depictions of its kind from this period, namely in the form of three backdrops that extend over the entire height and width of the presbytery (approx. 8.5 x 6.5 m). The 3 backdrop stages are fully preserved in their original condition.
