Oktaeder

Sigleß, Burgenland

The Oktaeder in Sigleß is a unique, walk-in art object in northern Burgenland, designed by artist Heinz Bruckschwaiger. The striking, octagonal sculpture rises 8.5 meters high into the sky and was made from wood and noble zinc sheet. It symbolizes the dialogue between art, landscape and architecture and also serves as a viewing tower. Through 14 strategically placed windows, visitors are offered a fascinating panoramic view over the gentle hills of the Wulka Valley, the Leitha Mountains and, on a clear day, as far as Lake Neusiedl. The Oktaeder is located directly on cycle path B32, is freely accessible all year round and is ideal as an excursion destination for walkers, cyclists and those interested in architecture. This modern landmark stands not only for artistic inspiration, but also for the connection between nature, movement and conscious contemplation – a place of peace and perspective in the middle of nature. The Oktaeder is freely accessible all year round and can be visited at any time!
