The Austrian Post and Telegraph Museum is housed in the historic rooms of the Kammerhof, a former hunting lodge of Emperor Franz Joseph I. The museum, lovingly and dedicatedly furnished, shows the development of the postal and telegraph system from the imperial era to today. Numerous historically and culturally valuable original exhibits, such as a roadworthy, walk-in stagecoach, an original imperial-royal post office from around 1900, post-historical documents, writing and office utensils, technical apparatus and much more transport visitors back to bygone times. A specially furnished children's post office leaves nothing to be desired for the little ones. Here, the youngest museum visitors can actively experience how to handle letters and telephones before the time of the internet and mobile phones. Visitors can experience history realistically and interactively here - a worthwhile excursion destination for the whole family.
