Maltschacher See is located only about three cycling kilometers southeast of Feldkirchen in Kärnten, and some guests even arrive at Maltschacher See on horseback. Admission to the public lido at Maltschacher See is free, and yet it offers everything and perhaps a little more that belongs to a relaxing day of swimming. While some set off for the opposite shore, accompanied by a SUP or pedal boat, others snorkel in the water, which is up to 28 °C warm. On the shore, guests take a seat in the Spiess restaurant, and those who want to be woken by the waterfowl on the lake can stay overnight in the front row at the campsite. The morning is also a good time to cast a line. Those in possession of a fishing permit are allowed to fish for carp in Maltschacher See. The Slow Trail Maltschacher See, from which the lake can be viewed from all perspectives, a manageable body of water that invites lake crossings, a natural, green shore, vineyards in sight that point the way to nearby Buschenschenken (wine taverns), and a path that is illuminated with hundreds of candles on New Year's Eve: Maltschacher See is an insider tip among the Carinthian lakes - for families as well as for nature lovers.
