Ödensee

Bad Mitterndorf, Styria

schwimmen

The Ödensee is a natural lake, more precisely a forest moor lake, in Bad Mitterndorf in the Styrian Salzkammergut. It is located in the municipality of Pichl-Kainisch in the Ausseerland at 776 meters above sea level and has a maximum depth of about 19 meters. A children's playground and a swimming beach invite visitors to an unforgettable day of swimming. Dogs are welcome at the Ödensee and on the circular hiking trail. However, swimming in the lake is strictly forbidden for them to protect a rare species of crayfish. For cooling off, dogs can use the nearby outflow stream. At the Ödensee and at the experience points Fischzucht Kainisch (fish farm), Altarm Riedlbach (old arm of the Riedlbach stream), Ödensee Hochmoor (raised bog), Torfstich Kainischmoos (peat cutting), Karstquellen Strumern (karst springs), Geology, Flowers, Übergangsmoor (transition moor), Forest and Water, visitors learn about all the beauties and treasures of nature around the Ödensee nature experience.
