Nepomuk-Kapelle

History of the Nepomuk Chapel: Since there was no specific use for the Nepomuk statue, it was stored in the parish church of St. Daniel and was desired by the Dellach residents. A chapel was built southwest of the Dellacher-Bach bridge (current federal road). The small monument was consecrated on May 16, 1845. In the late 1960s, the sacred building was demolished due to renovation work on the B111 and replaced by a wayside cross (Bildstock) at a slightly more southern location. This site proved to be the most suitable construction site for the planned chapel. Therefore, in August 1995, the wayside cross was relocated west of the community festival grounds. The Nepomuk statue, which had long been forgotten, was severely damaged. In 1993, Father Josef Schachner commissioned the restoration of the artwork. Construction of the Nepomuk Chapel began on August 12, 1995, based largely on the remaining photographic documentation. At the suggestion of the parish council, the blessing (Benediktion) of the sacred small monument was carried out on June 30, 1996. Visits are possible at any time.
