Naturschutzgebiet Vorderer und Hinterer Langbathsee

Vorderer Langbathsee (1.1 km long, 400 m wide, approx. 36 m deep) nature reserve at the foot of the Höllengebirge, crystal-clear water of drinking water quality; free natural bathing beaches, the state of Upper Austria has purchased the 4000 m² plot of land at Vorderer Langbathsee and makes it available to the public as a free public sunbathing lawn with lake access (to the right of it is the Langbathseestüberl restaurant). Excellent mountain scenery and circular hiking trails, former hunting lodge of Emperor Franz Josef, mountain bike trail, also ideal for jogging (8 km running track around both lakes). Average lake temperature 22° - 25° C. Dogs are forbidden on the bathing areas, walking around the lakes with four-legged friends is permitted (on a leash or with a muzzle). Hinterer Langbathsee (600 m long, 400 m wide, approx. 23 m deep) - absolute nature reserve and a natural jewel. Walking time from Vorderer to Hinterer Langbathsee approx. 45 minutes. Fee-based parking times:Daily from 08:00 – 18:00Minimum fee € 1.50 / 60 min.; each additional commenced hour € 1.50 / 60 min.; daily rate € 12.00For stays under 30 minutes, the fee is waived!Parking motorhomes or overnight stays in vehicles at Vorderer Langbathsee is prohibited from 22:00 to 06:00 and will be penalized (there are options at the two motorhome pitches in Ebensee).The ticket machine at the WCs at Vorderer Langbathsee offers both cash and cashless payment.
