Roßleithen, Upper Austria

Bathing paradise and world of legends Gleinkersee It is beyond question that Gleinkersee presents itself as a paradise for all water lovers. No matter how cold it may be in winter, in summer it quickly reaches pleasant temperatures. It is not for nothing that it is considered one of the warmest mountain lakes in Austria, with temperatures up to 25 degrees. The large sunbathing lawn with panoramic views of the region's mountains offers enough space even on high summer days for relaxed sunbathing with the whole family. There is also a playground for children. Three jetties guarantee a gentle dip into the shimmering green Gleinkersee water, which is tested monthly. And for those looking for a little variety, you can explore the furthest corners of the lake with a Surbike, pedal boat or rowing boat, or learn about the legends and myths of the region on a round trip with the large Saga boat. Gleinkersee: Old quality, newly defined. The Gasthaus Seebauer has been completely redesigned since 2009. The old, dilapidated building was demolished. Instead, the new house, which was modeled after the farmhouses of the region, combines the strengths of the past with modern gastronomic comfort. Down-to-earth home cooking of the usual, highest quality as in past decades, meets more space in the self-service area during the bathing season and two cozy Stuben (parlors) for cooler rainy days. The guest garden with its mighty chestnut trees invites you to stay as before. In addition, it is now better shielded from the access road to the campsite and the caravan pitch, which was enlarged last year. Plenty of space for tents and caravans With a caravan or tent at Gleinkersee – that means relaxation in the midst of the fascinating Pyhrn-Priel region. Breakfast a stone's throw from the lake, cozy grilling under the open sky in the evening and then an atmospheric round by the campfire. In addition, the perfect infrastructure including a new common room, showers and toilet facilities. The caravan pitch offers space for 25 caravans; electricity, sewage, and water connection included. Pike and Trout Crystal clear water also offers perfect conditions for fish of the highest quality. Gleinkersee is an Eldorado for many native fish species. The range extends from the mighty pike to char or brown trout. Fishing licenses are available at Gasthaus Seebauer. Adventure Gleinkersee A day at Gleinkersee promises not only swimming and relaxing. Because at Gleinkersee there are also adventures to be had. Right behind the sunbathing lawn there is a spectacular high ropes course. Balancing on steel ropes, wooden bridges or rapid gliding on one of the longest Flying Fox facilities in Upper Austria. Pure adrenaline is on the agenda – well secured and with competent supervision, of course. Further information from Harald Jansenberger, Tel.: +43(0)676/7400250 or on the internet at www.erlebnisagentur.info Hiking Gleinkersee is also an ideal starting point for numerous hikes. Whether to the Dümlerhütte, to the Seespitz, the Warscheneck, the Wurzeralm or simply on comfortable paths around the lake or to the impressive Pießling-Ursprung. Where the noble crayfish still lives It is considered almost extinct throughout Austria: the native noble crayfish. The impressive animal, up to twenty centimeters in size and found in only a few waters. In Gleinkersee, the strictly protected noble crayfish has one of its last retreats with perfect living conditions in the highest water quality.
