Natternbach-Ursprung

In the middle of a high forest in the north of the municipality, not far from the Jungfraustein natural monument, the Natternbach springs directly from the forest floor. From the crystal-clear source, which is overgrown with all kinds of plants and herbs, the Natternbach flows into the village, about 6 kilometers away, to which it gave its name hundreds of years ago. Earlier names were "Norderenbah", "Nodernbach" (derived from the stream from the north) until the current name "Natternbach" finally solidified. The Natternbach flows into the Leithenbach shortly after the municipal border in the south, from there its water flows via the Aschach into the Danube and finally after about 2500 kilometers into the Black Sea.The course of the water can be followed on a wooden bridge directly over the Natternbach-Ursprung.
