Museum Thurnfels

The Museum Thurnfels in the historic community center, the former Thurnfels manor (tower to Völs), offers an insight into the history of Völs. It is also a lasting reminder of the elevation of the municipality of Völs to market town status in 2000. The basis for the establishment of the museum: The interior restoration of the former Völs parish church brought several finds to light. They form the core of the exhibition, together with loans from the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum Innsbruck. Among the valuable treasures are also the oldest find from Völs, a stone axe from the 3rd millennium BC, as well as a full-hilted sword from the Bronze Age.
