Museum im Alten Rathaus Eisenerz

A visit to the Eisenerz Museum will transport you back to the heyday of the local iron industry in the 16th century. The representative councilor's hall from 1583 and the former Carcer bring this chapter of history with all its facets back to life. A tour through the three floors of the old town hall brings much of Eisenerz's rich past to life. The focus is on the eventful relationship between the Styrian Erzberg and the town of Eisenerz. Unique exhibits, such as precious iron blossoms and minerals, the Eisenerz "Wunderstufe" (wonder step), as well as other rarities from mining and local cultural history, such as the Tendler puppet theater, document this clearly and vividly. They are supplemented by film contributions and offer you a comprehensive picture of the development of a place from which European history was once written.
