Natternbach, Upper Austria
The Hausruck Nord region is located south of the Schlögener Schlinge and forms - visually speaking - a landscape basin that extends over the northernmost 12 municipalities of the Grieskirchen district. The landscape is characterized by the foothills of the Bohemian granite massif through numerous ridges, rivers, and streams. The mountain bike routes lead through the northern six municipalities (Natternbach, Neukirchen a.W., Eschenau i.H., St. Agatha, Peuerbach, and Waldkirchen am Wesen) of this region. The trails mostly run off-road, alternating between uphill and downhill, through the valleys and over the ridges of the Hausruck Nord region. The scenic, forested landscape offers many beautiful viewpoints and sights (Valley of the Seven Mills, Hengstberg viewpoint, Koaserin nature reserve, Hammerschmiede, Vierviertelblick, Paschinger Hügl). The region is considered a secret tip for active, nature-loving individual travelers and families. INFORMATION about the routes and tools for small repairs can be obtained at the MTB hosts. All MTB hosts also offer access points (start and finish) to the MTB trails. The inns and snack stations invite visitors to rest and linger, adding a special charm of tradition and groundedness to this still largely natural region. An entry point to the MTB trail is possible at all MTB hosts!.
