Mariensäule am Hauptplatz

The Mariensäule is located in the middle of the Hauptplatz. A significant reason for the victorious battle, as history tells us, was the fact that the river was flooded at that time. This idea was incorporated into the design of the fountain. A fountain basin approximately 10 by 10 meters encloses the Mariensäule. 14 water columns, representing 14 municipalities of our district, offer an impressive water display. The eight benches correspond to the eight cities of Eastern Styria and invite visitors to linger.
