Maria-Hilf-Kapelle Lambach

The Maria-Hilf-Kapelle on Buchberg north of Lambach is a dome-vaulted central building and visible from afar. It was built by Abbot Maximilian Pagl after the laying of the foundation stone in 1717. The floor plan has the shape of a seven-pointed star with slightly curved sides, in which a circle is inscribed. The dome shows the Coronation of Mary, surrounded by a wreath of angels. In the fields of the lower dome zone, the seven refuges are depicted: Above the entrance, Mary helps in prison distress, then clockwise Mary helps with physical ailments, Mary helps in fire danger, Mary helps in war distress, Mary helps with water dangers, Mary helps with contagious diseases, Mary helps with thunderstorm danger. In the center of the altar, a replica of the Passau Maria-Hilf painting can be seen. Monthly pilgrimages to the chapel Every fourth Friday of a month at 7:30 PM, a pilgrimage for priestly and religious vocations takes place to the Maria-Hilf-Kapelle. The starting point of the pilgrimage is the Jubiläumsplatz in front of Lambach Abbey.
