A shrine stood in the same spot in the 16th century, which was later fitted with a shingle roof. A chapel is first mentioned in 1720, which was embellished around 1805 and its exterior provided with a gable facade. In 1988, the most recent renovation of the chapel took place, and the new organ was also installed. The renovation work carried out in 2008 - 2009, which now gives the chapel new splendor, is a beautiful sign of the importance of sacred places with a lively village community like in Vorderlanersbach.
