Magische Krippenwelt

Garsten and Steyr, the Enns and Steyr valleys can rightly be called an "old nativity scene country". The construction of the Ennstaler Kastenkrippe (box nativity scene) is now often taught in courses. Starting from my restoration activities in 1980, the desire to revive the tradition of nativity scene building soon arose. I have been building nativity scenes for more than 30 years. Approximately 400 nativity scenes are exhibited in my nativity scene museum. I use all kinds of shapes as housings. There is nothing into which I cannot build a nativity scene. Some nativity scenes are populated by several hundred small "Loahmmandln" (clay figures). The well-known Steyrer Kripperl (nativity scene) can also be admired in miniature.
